The Harrier, commonly referred to as the Harrier Jump Jet, is a family of combat aircraft capable of vertical/short takeoff or landing (V/STOL) operations. It is named after the bird of prey [1], which was developed by the British designer Hawker Siddeley in the 1960s. The Harrier stands out as the only truly successful V/STOL among the many attempts at this point. It is designed to operate from structured settings, such as a garage or clearing, without the need for a large and weak antenna. Later, the design was adapted for use by aircraft carriers.
