The Douglas DC-3 is a propeller driven aircraft manufactured by the Douglas Aircraft Company that had a lasting impact on the aviation industry between 1930-1940 and World War II. It was developed as a larger and improved 14-berth version of the Douglas DC-2. It is a metallic low-wing monoplane with conventional landing gear, powered by two 1,000–1,200 hp (750–890 kW) radial piston engines.
